This page has a few helpful things to read before our first session together. It’s designed to help you feel more comfortable, informed, and prepared.

  • Sessions are generally 50 minutes, unless discussed prior.

    Please arrive a few minutes prior to your session start time, to ensure we can commence on time.

    You will need to complete and submit your intake form prior to arriving for your first session. Please reach out if you have not received this email and cannot locate it in your junk/spam.

  • My counselling room is located at Shop 2/680 Coleridge Road, Bateau Bay NSW- inside ‘Raw Wellbeing Co’.

    We are a shared allied health space, surrounded by other small businesses.

    When you arrive at the row of shops, we are the furthest building on the right and our entry is around the corner. Look for the cactus sign!

    If you are near the hair salon, you are at the opposite end to where you need to be- head towards the bus depot gate and if you start going up a ramp, you’ve gone too far.

  • There is limited parking available, so please ensure you allow plenty of time to find a suitable spot prior to your session.

    Our location does not have dedicated car parking spots and the space is shared by other small businesses. At times, you may be required to park further away and it is the responsibility of each client to check for any parking signage and restrictions.

    Accessible parking: There are clearly marked accessible parking bays available close to the building entrance.

    The parking area includes curb cuts and flat, step-free pathways that provide easy access to the entrance.

    If you use a mobility aid, pram, or simply prefer a more accessible route, these features are designed to support a smooth arrival.

    If you have any specific accessibility needs or would like assistance upon arrival, please feel free to get in touch beforehand.

  • Public transport: Our space is roughly a 5 minute walk from local bus stops (along The Entrance Road, Bateau Bay). It is a mostly flat walk- however, please note there is a steep incline to reach the row of shops and there are no footpaths along Coleridge Road.

  • When you arrive, you are welcome to make yourself comfortable in the waiting area and I will greet you at the beginning of your session time.

    As this is a shared space, please be mindful of noise and we kindly request you take phone calls outside and refrain from noisy activities (including videos and media) as it is likely there are other sessions in progress.

  • Setting up your space: Before your session commences, please ensure you have moved to a private and quiet space where you will not be interrupted.

    With the exception of young infants, I am generally unable to proceed with your session if your safety or privacy may be impacted in some way, or if the level of distraction impedes our session. This may result in you being charged full fee, as a late cancellation. (e.g. there are other people in the space, you are in public, you are driving or doing an activity you cannot pause, there are distractions you are unable to move away from).

    Joining the session: If you have scheduled a telehealth session, a link will be sent to you prior to your session.

    Generally these are sent out the morning of your session, or the day before.

    If you have not received a link: Please check your junk/spam folder before texting or emailing.

    Technology: Telehealth sessions are held via Zoom, using my booking platform Zanda.

    Sessions are not recorded.

    Security: If you would like more information about Zoom’s security and privacy, please see their website.

    Policy: If you would like a copy of my Telehealth policy, please reach out prior to your session.

  • Policy: Cancellations are possible where a minimum of 48 hours notice has been provided in writing.

    On occasions where less than 48 hours notice is given or you do not attend your session, you will be charged full fee using the payment method set up in your intake form or client portal.

    In instances of two or more non-attendances, late cancellations or rescheduling within 48 hours of the session, Progressive Counselling may be unable to provide future services.

    In the event that you have not provided sufficient notice and payment has not been made, or is unable to be processed, no future services will proceed until all outstanding fees are paid.

    How to cancel: Prior to 48 hours before your session, you cancel or reschedule your session within the client portal if you have registered and booked your session using the client portal.

    All other cancellations and rescheduling requires notice by email or text (hello@progressivecounselling.com.au / 0433554804)

    Running late: If you have not arrived within 15 minutes of your scheduled session time, you may be required to forfeit your session and full fee payment will still be required.

    Sessions that start late due to late arrival, will not extend beyond the original session time.

  • Online: If you have registered within the client portal, you are able to reschedule your sessions up until 48 hours before your session. Just log in and follow the prompts!

    Other: If you are not registered within the portal, please reach out with as much notice as possible via email or text to reschedule.

  • Scheduling your next session is strongly encouraged to be done at the end of your session before you leave, to ensure your preferred day and time is available.

    Many clients book weeks to months ahead, so if you know you require regular sessions- please ensure you are planning ahead to avoid disappointment.

    If you are unable to schedule your next session prior to leaving, you are welcome to book via the client portal, or contact me via text or email.

  • When: All payments are processed prior to sessions commencing. Generally this will occur the morning of your scheduled session using Stripe payment system. Please ensure your nominated card has sufficient funds for payment.

    Why: Payments processed prior to sessions commencing, allow the full session time to be used therapeutically. Should payments not be processed prior to your arrival due to insufficient funds or card error, we will need to address this before we can commence with your session.

    Intake form: An intake form will be emailed to you prior to your first session. You are required to confirm your agreement with payment processes and policies relevant to payment of fees and to provide a nominated card to be stored within my booking system (Zanda).

    Third party payment: Please see your service agreement.
