April has worked with many mental health presentations across the lifespan and has extensive experience working with developmental trauma, parenting challenges, complex family dynamics, sexual assault, stress, anxiety and depression.

April offers exclusive EMDR Intensive packages for clients seeking focused, trauma-informed support in a condensed and intentional format.
These intensives are designed for individuals who want to work deeply without the disruption of weekly sessions, allowing space for meaningful progress and integration. Drawing on April’s extensive trauma background, EMDR intensives provide a structured yet compassionate approach to processing complex experiences, supporting nervous system regulation, and creating lasting change.
This offering is carefully limited to ensure a high level of clinical care, attunement, and personalised support throughout the process.

April offers relationship counselling for couples who want to feel more connected, understood, and supported in their relationship.
Drawing on the clinical skills developed in her background working with trauma, April helps couples to gently explore patterns, strengthen communication, and create a sense of safety within their connection.
April is particularly passionate about supporting parents and couples as they navigate life transitions, rebuild closeness, and intentionally create the relationship they want- one that feels secure, respectful, and aligned with their values.April is trained in Gottman Level 1 and is currently undergoing training in Gottman Level 2.

April is passionate and skilled at creating warm, trusting relationships as the foundation for positive change. Counselling for children and young people provides a supportive space to share and navigate challenges and develop skills for use outside of sessions.
April enjoys utilising creative interventions and has done additional study in Play Therapy.

April is an approved Counsellor with NSW Victim Services.
At Progressive Counselling, April’s area of focus is supporting people in healing and recovery. April is not accepting crisis referrals at this time.

April is currently at full capacity for VS referrals until early 2026.
